SBT has a developed a range of embedded processing and communication systems for DARPA STO, recently supporting the Adaptable Sensor System (ADAPT) Program, the Computational Leverage Against Surveillance Systems (CLASS), and the Communication in Contested Environments (C2E). Within the ADAPT program, SBT managed the development of a compact Software Defined Radio (SDR), working with a Taiwanese ODM to enable rapid design and manufacturing, while partitioning this system development for use in Defense systems. Further in ADAPT, SBT has developed a range of energy aware operating system and driver technologies, and leveraged those technologies to develop a low cost, unattended ground sensor system. This UGS device packs the dual core ADAPT core module, commercial communications (4G, Bluetooth, and WiFi), 900MHz ground radio, GPS, 3-axis magnetometer, 3 axis accelerometer, 3 PIRs, 2 cameras, 2 microphones, 1 geophone, and a rechargeable battery rated for 14 days of operation, into the compact 4cm x 8cm x 9cm device.

Within the CLASS program, SBT supported tens of development teams as they use the ADAPT SDR, providing a robust development environment leveraging state of the art open development models and tools. To date SBT has at their customer direction supplied over a hundred SDR systems to 17 different government and contractor teams. To support the software development on these system SBT has provided the contractor and government teams a detailed wiki providing interaction examples (encompassing hundreds of pages), full source access in a cloud hosted repository, detailed issue tracking, as well as email, phone, and in person support. Finally, in the C2E program, SBT developed three variations of an SDR platform, including implementation of reference networking solutions operating on that SDR for communication between unmanned and manned airborne platforms.

Dr. McIntire is an electrical design engineer with more than 20 years of experience designing hardware and software for embedded and consumer electronics,wireless communications systems, and the Internet of Things. Additionally, he has anacute broad area expertise over several technological fields and is a skilled technologist and systems architec twith a history of successfully leading projects and teams from concept through production utilizing extensive background in computer architecture, low power circuits, embedded software, and communications protocols. He possesses a sharp ability to architect, design, fabricate, and manufacturesuccessful products from concept to high volume production. Examples includeco-foundingofacloud-basedSaaS company providing IoT services, hosting hundreds of thousands of devices for multiple Fortune 500 companies, and developing a scalable edge computing system to perform distributed tracking using multimodal sensing assets. Companies he has led as either Chief Technologist, or CTO or CEO include Tranzeo Wireless, Arrayent, Prodeo and Silver-Bullet Technology. He holds a B.S. from Stanford, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from UCLA

Harold “Bud” Patterson – COO. Bud Patterson brings over 25 years of engineering and management experience in wireless broadband system development and semiconductor development.
Mr. Patterson has been engaged in developing wireless broadband products for 16 years, most recently serving as VP Operations at Coretex, a supplier of fleet management solutions to 50K+ connected vehicles. Previously he served as VP Engineering of Tranzeo Wireless and led the development of Tranzeo’s WiMax Base Station and Subscriber Station products. Before Tranzeo, he served at Sensoria Corporation as VP Engineering, leading the development of wireless sensor network development, mesh networking products and software.Before joining Sensoria, Mr. Patterson held senior engineering roles in the semiconductor industry as VP Engineering at Accelerix, and Director of Engineering at MOSAID Technologies, Rockwell Semiconductor Systems and Brooktree Corporation. Mr. Patterson holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University and graduated from the Leadership and Management Program at the University of California San Diego.
